Ffs, why did you have to merge everything into the relaxation corner?!? <_< I agree perhaps that merging the whole entertainment section together and stuff is a good idea, but putting all of that into one section is pissing me off with its complete lack of organisation. :@

a lot of people have come here, but unfortunately they get flamed mercilessly, driving them away!!!!

if peeps were nicer to the n00bs, some might actually stay

and remember its the folk who make this site not the site making the folk !

I mentioned this earlier in the thread. We need to sort this out.

I think changing the standard forum lay-out and banner would be an improvement. I mean, it just screams Avril Lavigne 13y/o fangirls.
Oh, and the site layout too. No offense or anything, but it just looks so "newbish"
I've thought about creating a new theme for the forum for a while. Maybe this should be a priority?
I don't think much can be done about the site though without nuk.

I suppose artifical's idea of making a Facebook group for LE is a pretty good idea, but I just think the "emo" part of this forum is dead. To be fair, it has become a website for just general loves such as music, anime, books & general discussion. I think we'd make much more progress in gaining members if the forum just became something different rather than just being aimed at "emos", & then we get a bunch of 13 year olds that we don't want here.

I suggest a new domain name, advertising on Facebook & affiliating with other websites.
That's quite a large change there. There is a main site remember. lol

This so much. I suppose we should stop it and all that jazz.

True but it's not really us who do it; it's the n00bs who flame the n00bs. We only flame n00bs when they are very annoying & wont take a telling. Although I agree, we have to solve the problem of blatant internet abuse haha.

Yeah, it really does look like the front over of The Best Damn Thing album...not that I have that album or anything...¬_¬.
But yeah, a new fresher layout. Make it more like an adult website where there is a lot to discuss & contribute, rather than a 12 year old scene kid's place to go internet.

I think we should change the main site completely to be honest. I know it's not my website or anything, but you aren't going to attract a large variety of people from the internet when they come onto the main site & see that. It's just by luck that sometimes we can get some half decent people to come onto the forum.
Luv-Emo is dead, it needs to be changed.

You can change the skin if you want. I have mine on IP. Board Pro because its the only one I can see properly when I can't find my glasses.

I use IP Board Pro too, but changing the default one to something nicer is a good start. Changing the main site is also something that needs done, but nuk is the only one who has access to it.

I know that it's slightly messier, but it makes the place look busier. It's about appearances.

Slightly?!? It's a shit-heap!

Where's your VPS from, and are you planning on doing anything with it? Just out of interest. Also, are those digital photos or film ones on it?

Since you're updating appearances, we need a new default theme and a new main site.

My VPS is just a way of portioning my dedicated server I'm sharing with some people: it's my own. Not sure what I'm going to do with it: paying for it was meant to be my inspiration for my open source project. And it was always a shitheap, by the way. But it's what it was like when I joined, and when it was far more active.

Agreed on both: Nuk's VPS root however is for all of his sites. But I guess we could mock up a layout to show him, if you're up for it?

Also, they're film photos.

Ah right.

Yeahh, I'm unemployed and out of education right now, so I've got pretty little else to do.

Did you develop them, or send them off? Just starting to get back into the world of film again. It's more interesting than digital.

Edit: What other sites does he have?

Cool, I'll set up a subdomain. As for the other sites, I don't really know: I think there's a game one.

vipflux.com, apparently is one.

Home developed. Colour film processed in black and white chemicals.

Cool.

I like them. There's a unique feeling to them, but I can't quite tell what it is.

Right, off to make tea.

Subdomain has been set up, anybody want to play around with a new layout (hell, could even be a collaborative effort!), let me know and I'll forward you the details.

Couldn't we possibly just use a CMS & design it that way? Would save time plus would save editing time etc.

Would it get updated much? I guess it'd probably be a good idea if there was something suitable.

One thought: A gallery could be a good idea, if such a plugin exists for IPB or something. It might attract more members. One that people can upload to like.

Wow, hang on...

I get back on here and what do I find?
SOMEONE FINALLY NUKED THE ANTI-EMO SECTION!
Kudos to whoever did that. Also, where is my retro reviews thread?

EDIT: Found it kicking around the Relaxation Corner. It's so delightfully SPARTAN here now!

Every sub-section in the relaxation corner got merged into the relaxation corner (bah!), so it'll be there somewhere.
