I know that a lot, I mean a LOT of people like him, but i really caant understand their fixation, he has no/very little talent and is doing the same thing as everyone else.

I know he is supposedly an awesome guy that has battled drug adiction, alcholism and every other thing under the sun AND come out on top, but i still fail to percieve why people love his music.

He is one of the few white rappers that can actually rap on par the people in the predominately black rap scene. His lyrics are very clever, he came from having nothing to having everything because he DOES have a lot of talent.

I happen to love Eminem. If it were between him and some other band, i would choose him.
Why? Because i like his lyrics. I like that he's not afraid to say fuck you to all those idiotic barbie doll stars and not feel any remorse for it.
Not to mention the movie 8 mile was amazing:)

LMFAO that's not rap, that dude sounds like he goes to the annual star trek convention dressed as spock. If you want someone British who can rap, check this out

Ignore the first guy, he sounds like he's got a cannon in his throat, but the rest is golden.

Hey hey hey, going to a star trek convention dressed as Spock is fucking genius. I mean, it's Spock!
And Eminem is a rapper. Not a lot of people like him but imo he's pretty awesome.
A lot of UK rappers i can't listen to because their accent makes me giggle so much. Rapping with a accent is just...silly lol

That's not bad actually...

Haha! rapping with an accent xD You don't think that British put on the accent do you? -_-
I think it'd sound sillier if they tried to rap in another accent, like french, which would be hilarious.

@ Ash How do you even know who eminem is, lol I've never even heard of those rappers you name. He didn't make a name for himself by being a lame rapper.

Eminem is famous because Dr. Dre marketed him well. Not saying that Eminem had talent. There are thousands of artists that have talent, but without the right person to make them famous, they never go anywhere. Eminem thankfully met Dr. Dre.

Eminem had talent. His last two albums sounded forced. The natural flow he once had is gone and the music itself sounds like Dr. Dre is just trying to make something that sounds good in his headphones.

Or you can be like Jay Z and make your own label. True, Eminem probably wouldn't be where he is today, but how far he has gotten was based on his talent. He is known for not holding his back, aswell as 50 cent.

Eminem does have talent... but like so many others have pointed out it's all about marketing and image in todays hip hop community. If talent actually meant something beyond respect for a certain artist then Aesop Rock would have gone multi-platinum at least 4 or 5 times over by now.

But i kind of have to admit, his new album sounds more grown up. All of his albums before talked about drugs, his wife, all the issues he was having in life and now that he's gotten clean his music is more mature. Maybe it's because i love rap and hip hop but i don't think he'll ever suck. Maybe he'll lose a little bit of his asshole side now that he's clean but that's what happens when people get older and change, so does their music.

I agree with this, but personally I think Recovery holds the same calibre as his old stuff. Relapse on the other hand is dirty bathwater.
