Has anyone here met anyone off the internet?
I don't mean off dating websites or after being groomed by a pedophile for sex (or, if you are a pedophile, after grooming someone for sex), i just mean someone you befriended off a forum. I have, 3 times in fact (which makes me sound very weird, it's not something i tell people a lot).
First time, was a girl who lives up in Newcastle, and i went up with a couple of friend for a weekend of getting drunk. It was the most awkward situation of my life, not only because i didn't really know this girl too well, but because she turned out to be fucking weird. She barely said a word and yet stuck around with me and my friends for ages, it was just strange. After that i swore i'd never do it again, but i did.
I'm an admin on a gaming forum (who isn't?) and one of the mods was coming over to Birmingham (not far from me) as part of a holiday, so we met up, i took him to a few english pubs, one with a band playing and the next day we were meant to go to a festival. He was a super cool guy, had a good time. But then his card stopped working so we had to contact his uncle in norway and get him to send money to us (which is impossible by the way on a sunday) and we had to do it via the police. We spent the entire day walking around Birmingham looking for a way to transfer money from abroad, got hastled by some christian preacher and eating Chinese food, it was pretty cool.
The third time was a total accident. I went to see Alexisonfire with my girlfriend, and i happened to bump into a girl off the same forum while there. Was probably more awkward that the first time actually, because my girlfriend was like "who's she?" and "just some girl off the internet" is never something someone should say to a loved one, although she was totally cool with it.
So my advise would be, don't bother. It's just awkward, they're probably stranger in real life than you imagine them to be and they could ell be a rapist.

I was a mod on another site where I met my best friend actually 3 years ago. We talked for awhile, he lived 30 minutes away, we met up at Starbucks and we've been hanging out and have been best friends for now over 3 years. We're having some major issues right now and I'm sort of starting to hate him though.

You fucking played neopets?!?!? I
I haven't (yet), but I do plan on it. As long as it isn't like, you've talked for 3 days and meet in an empty parking lot in a one horse town when no one is around..it should be okey. Just be careful and use your head.
@Britty, Guitar boy? (I totally forgot his name lol)

I played neopets with amanda.
That's how we met.
Never, I think it'd be weird.

When I first read the title I thought it said 'meeting people off the inbetweeners' and I was like wayhey!
But anyway I wouldn't mind. But I doubt it would ever happen.
