I think I'm asking too much. But here it goes. What kind of features and sections do you want?
I personally want to remap the whole forum in new sections and sub forums, however you guys should probably be able to have a vote in this as well..

Remapped forum will happen when the new theme is included. This is simply because I think everything here can be improved, for easier lurking and locating stuff.

Anyway, go wild with ideas please.

There should probably also be one for pictures considering we have an anti-camwhore thread, a thread for pet pictures, the camwhore pictures thread and probably more somewhere in the forum so that would be nice.

I think the sections could be re-arranged tbh, it all seems a little messy. Having music split up into genres and yet only having a few seems odd, you should either go full out and list all major genres or keep it as having an "emo" section and a "none emo" section (purely because this is an emo forum, normally i'd suggest just keeping all music lumped together).

The Best Of forum under the Creations thread seems pointless, this could be put into a sticky. "Music slander" is also pointless imo and so is "radio music"

I also think that the "Emo Stuff" section could be worked into the music section or the other way round.

Here's a layout i would suggest;

- Love Emo Meta (change this title if you want, that might be a bit geeky for this type of forum)
-- News & Announcements
-- Feedback, Suggestions & Questions

- Media
-- Emo Music
-- Non-Emo Music
-- Other Media

- Misc.
-- The Scene
-- Love
-- Creations

- Community Discussions

--- The Warzone (is there even a point to this?)



Just my idea of a better, simplified layout. It's a bit old hat these days to have so many sections with the likes of 4chan, with very broad sections being so successful amongst other famous forums. This is also something i've done very recently with a forum i admin, and it looks a lot better because of it.

I gotta say that I disagree a little with the above post. Putting "emo stuff" with emo music is not a good idea at all because we are always preaching that real emo music does not coincide with modern "emo fashion". Here's how I think music should go:

-Emo
--Screamo
--Post-Emo
-Punk
--Hardcore
--Post-hardcore/'scene' music
-Others
--(make subsections here however you want)

Also, get rid of the warzone, radio music, and best of section as megamind said, and also get rid of music slander (as suggested) because music slander tends to just be the bands/artists that most people that come here like and Ryan hates. Another useful thing to reduce the ignorance of new members would be to sticky a post with info on what emo, screamo, post hardcore, etc.

We are not mixing creations, writing, poetry, photography with misc.
Creations stays it's own with all that it has in it because that's always been fine and it's easy to find people's art in there. So that should not be changed.
"Emo Stuff" the title alone should be changed because kids automatically assume that "emo stuff" means to post about fashion, their idiot problems, etc. and music should not be mixed in with that whole area of idiocracy.
The warzone stays because it's the one place we can take problems, cuss, say whatever the fuck we want and not get into trouble for it. Naraa is wanting to bust down on the rules so I would suggest keeping the warzone to give everyone a place to let off steam.

But no one lets of steam there, they just mess about exactly the same as they would in the general forum. Fair enough, i didn't know creations... was such a big part of the site.

I didn't mix "emo stuff" with music exactly if you look, it's forums were just mixed in with misc, which to me makes sence, because having a section for 2 forums that one of the mods classes as "their idiot problems" seems stupid.

Just an idea anyway. Structure wise this place is very messy and confusing.

Haha, it's not that it's important, I just really like going through it sometimes and finding different poems and looking at the photography of some of the old members and hopefully with the changes we will get more members who will bring that part of the forum back to life:)

Agreed on the messy and confusing part.

I think, when it comes to the music part of the forum at least, Ryan should be asked before it gets changed. Just sayin'.
