Hey, lately I have come up with the idea that I am too old to be emo. Because I don't really see many people around my age. Perhaps I am getting a little to old for this scene, what do you think?

Hehehe, I pretty much think that too (I'm 21 also).
It seems to be reserved for the 12-18 demographic for some reason.

But to hell with it, you're only as old as you feel XD

not in a mental way, she knows shes old and is a bit sensitive bout it.

when shes in a good mood she starts saying 'your as old as you feel and i feel 17!'

So i tell her off for being too hyper so she like yes mum. can i leave home now?

so i told her she couldnt coz id have to live with dad

and then my brothers were like whats wrong with dad!! and got all pissy

but anyways yeh, my mums favourite question is can i leave home yet? i dotn wanna tidy up after you lot any more!

i love her lol. shes a star

Yeah, I came up with this thought because my workplace does not appreciate how I dress.

I share clothes with my mom, I love her clothes. She is 10 cm taller than I am, but usually her clothes fit on me just fine.
You're too old for scene if you've been dead so long you are nothing but earth. Have you?

Hm. That very much depends in which sector you work, I guess.
You could try to find your "business style". I was shopping for a lot of those business clothes lately and I always tried to stay true to what I like anyway. You're not gonna find me in some brown costume with a pink blouse. But I just love my grey/black Glencheck suit and my white shirt-blouse with the "rock rebel" print. Or chrashed fabric.
But sometimes I get fed up with it and want to buy some bondage trousers or whatever. LOL

It's also interesting how it changes the perception.
After job interviews I walk around cities. It's really interesting. I automatically give goths a smile, but when I'm in my "business outfit" they just give me strange looks. But go to a Crabtree & Evelyn store and you get served immediatly.
Really interesting...

My parents are pretty ok.
If you wanna find the Nirvana or Metallica CDs in our household, you have to go to my dad's CDs, not mine. Last week my mum spend half of the night listening to our old Bob Dylan LPs and singing along.

LMAO!!

I asked the same thing in another forum recently and no-one replied!

I'm a bit more than 21. And I don't think there is such a thing as too old for emo. I've been borderline punk/goth since I was 13, and I've only just now realized that I'm probably borderline emo too.

You're never too old to be yourself.

I think I'm going back
To the things I learnt so well in my youth
I think I'm returning to
Those days when I was young enough to know the truth
Now there are no games
To only pass the time
No more colouring books
No christmas bells to chime
But thinking young and growing older is no sin
And I can't play the game of life to win

I can recall a time
When I wasn't ashamed to reach out to a friend
And now I think I've got
A lot more than just my toys to lend
Now theres more to do
Than watch my sailboat glide
And every day can be
My magic carpet ride
And I can play hide and seek with my fears
And live my days instead of counting my years

Then everyone debates
The true reality
I'd rather see the world
The way it used to be
A little bit of freedom's all we lack
So catch me if you can
I'm going back
