hardcore is dead... all the legit bands who still play hardcore have already merged into either the hardcore punk or skramz music communities because they are sick and tried of all the violent bullshit which goes on at the typical hardcore show...

this is something i've noticed, in california mosh pits were huge and if you fell someone would help you back up and most of the time they were mostly guys but in maine there are barely any good mosh pits at shows, and ppl are extremely rude too.
but yeah i dont think that hardcore dancing is bad, ppl just want to have fun and do stupid shit.

Wow, what you guys are talking about sounds brutal. I went to a show just last weekend, it was just a local battle of the bands, nothing special. We were all hardcore dancing in the back but we do it so no one gets hurt. We give eachother the space we need, stay away from the part of the crowd who's not danceing, and if anyone gets knocked down we all stop and help them up. In fact some over age D-bag (you had to be under 18 to dance) came in, and started getting too close to people while he was danceing. He ended up knocking out a kid. The band completely stopped, everyone stopped what they were doing and helped the kid up, and the guy got thrown out. I hate people like that. He about ruined it for everyone and gives us a bad name, like what you guys are talking about.

The thing about hardcore danceing, yes, I'll be the first to admit it, it looks retarded. But when your actually doing it, it's so much more. You let your body do what it wants too while listening to great music, and it's like the music becomes a part of you.

To each his or her own though.

if you're in the back and you are being considerate to the kids around you then i could care less... but it's the assholes who crowd kill and purposely ruin circle pits that i have an issue with...

Ok, I had to revive this so I could rant somewhere.

I want to the biggest show (meaning in popularity) I've ever been to tonight, the room was about the size of a classroom, maybe a bit bigger.

So I was hardcore dancing in an open area, away from the people who don't want to dance. I get hit in the face and my lip splits open. I was kinda upset so I was done dancing for the night, Next band comes on, and I stand in the front with the people who aren't dancing to enjoy the music.

You see, I've never understood your guy's problem with hardcore dancing, I guess because I haven't ever been to a big enough show. Now I do.

We're all standing in the front enjoying ourselves, and I start getting hit in the back, along with others, by a fat skin head douche. It starts pissing me off, but I let it go when he moves away. A little bit later I look behind me, just in time to see fat skin head douche on his hands and knees, and another fat skin head douche flying torwards me through the air. I get knocked down and my tooth gets knocked loose. Pisses me the fuck off. They dived into us when we were just standing there.

Why can't people let other people enjoy music in their own way?

Because the majority of the human race does not understand courtesy yet. I say you should have tossed a donut out the window and watched em both dive for it.

I don't care about the looks of it, I care about the fact that people are hurt in the process.
Also, your posting needs help.

For me it's about connecting with the music, but you're right, it's dangerous.

Theres people out there who just want to hurt others.

It's sad because I've heard it wasn't always like this.

just a warning dude, never attempt to hardcore dance at a screamo show. it's not allowed in the screamo community. just saving you some trouble because i noticed you're going to see Lion Of The North soon.

Actually, I was going to ask you about that, and I'm glad there's not going to be any.

I really only hardcore dance because it's all I've ever seen done at shows.

I'm ready for a change.

Getting kicked and elbowed in the face really makes you think, you know?

At any real screamo shows i've been to there's no moshing. There's still ways to enjoy the music though. At the one's i've been to everyone is crammed in a really small space (usually a room at a house party, or crammed into a bar), and everyone is together screaming their hearts out. The hardcore shows where I'm from aren't bad either. We're all pretty good friends, and we've been dancing together at shows since like 2004. The thing that sucks at shows is the cocky little scene kids that think they can do whatever they want at shows. They come in there with all their little scene friends and try to start shit. Bad idea for the scene kids.
