Guys say that something is gay when it doesn't match up with their expectations of how masculine it should be. In this case the fact that HIM is not a brutal metal band they are labeled as being gay. Maybe it is a cop out because some guys have so repressed their homosexuality that they want to admit that Val is attractive but cannot for fear of being forced to admit that they are in fact the one that is gay, not the band.

Anyways I like HIM but I think that they are a bit overrated. I've heard too many people say that they are "the greatest band ever". Oh and my mom likes HIM, she is currently in possession of my two HIM c.d.s.

what's so good about this band neway? It's true it is overated... But I can't blame people for their taste, cuz not all of us hv it common. And you can't blame me for not liking it, and for saying it's gay. Not accusing, but that's what I think about the main singer. Lotsa gothic bands looks gay btw... There're a lot more great bands out there or was.. If I say The Beatles was a greater band, some of you would say yes, some won't. Different thoughts.. different thoughts..

Well their music certainly isn't "gay" in the original sense of the word.

Cuz men already hawt, tht they don't need make-ups.. or, they're frank of how they look like.

Seriously, guys don't wear make-ups or not allowed to is to distinguish girls and boys. Since some guys do look like a girl (cept tht they hv no boobs). This is an old fashion way of thinking. But I prefer that. Anyhow, wearing eyeliner is okay since it's also meant for guys to look smexier.

btw, I did mean the other gay, I just mentioned that it has other meaning.
