Since I can count the number of hardcore bands in this sub-forum on one hand, I thought I'd add one.
Unlike 99.5% of today's bands who claim to derive inspiration from punk, this band actually does. Gallows is straight-up no fucking bullshit hardcore punk, not metalcore, not mallcore, not indie-rap-electro-whatthefuckeverireallydon'twanttohearit-core. Reminiscent of WAY early Refused, Gallows' sound is raw, pissed off, and angry about things that don't have to do with their parents or some chick.
Formed: 2005
Sounds like: I'm going to punch your damn jaw out like it's 1992 and there's no internet.
Also, I half-refuse to listen to the new album, for fear that it will pale in comparison to Orchestra of Wolves, so go figure.
And they put on a great live show, so go see them. And hug Frank, he looks like he needs it. He probably just needs to be cuddled and loved a bit.
Gallows

They're probably one for my favourite bands right now; songs about sharks, ships and wolves who like fucking, what more could you actually ask for?
