Ryan only mods the music forum. He certainly shouldn't mod anything else, he's already abused his power a few times.
If Ryan's entitled to mod the music forum only, why can't we elect certain people to look after different forum sections?
Like, for example: Enemy could mod the 'Emo stuff' section. Sunshine could look after Community Discussions and so on. It would have an advantage in having less trouble for everyone.

If you made Enemy a global mod as opposed to an admin, would he still be able to approve accounts? He wouldn't have access to email addresses then, as far as I know. Though I'm not exactly sure of the mechanisms of account approval, it's the one aspect of IP boards I've never tried out.

I think we should just take validation off, see what happens.
People might be being put off by the delays: EB doesn't validate, and they suck less than we do right now.

Well can't they all share the same rules?
And more mods than are needed would be present.

In theory yes, in practise if a mod is running only one section they can tend to be too strict or not strict enough, and people get punished for things in one section that they wouldn't in another, which is unfair.

I can set up email rules to deal with that, if I read up on regexes.

Why alter the entire forum system to accommodate unnecessary mods?
It could have it's advantages by having the mods to organize threads, moving them, etc. more effectively. This way, time could be saved for Effy and Lady and the others. They wouldn't need to worry about having to go through the entire forum just to deal with a minor problem every once in a while.

I don't think there's a problem with abrasive posting, threads in wrong sections, or anything like that, the main point of contention is the validation. LE ISN'T a huge or active forum, and more mods aren't really necessary- I say trim off the excess, sort something out regarding the validation, problem solved.

If bobby was more active, I'd vote him straight to the top. He's just plain awesome. And would do absolutely great as a mod.

I've deactivated validation, and will probably put it back on tomorrow. But still.
