Well, I haven't really listened to them enough to really have much of a valid opinion, but everything I've heard so far has been really good. Have you seen the video of like these 6th graders or something singing "Prayer of a Refugee" at a talent show? It's on their website down under their videos somewhere. http://www.riseagainst.com/videos/ scroll down a little, it's not far down. I don't mean to sound mocking, they're not bad. But they're just so cute (IMG:http://www.luv-emo.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/001_smile.gif)

I would consider them punk - I think they have alot of 'punk' values (Hell, I'm not 100% sure what I mean by that).
I read an interview with them the other day, and how they were talking about how punk has changed and all these sub-genres that are popping up. I have a great deal of respect for these guys. I love them. (IMG:http://www.luv-emo.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/wub.gif) |

What kind of shit troll are you? Rise against are alright, im not a massive fan but i am going to see them on't 24th of january. But i couldnt really care less about seeing them, theyre just a minor bonus, the real reason im going is to see ANTI(fucking)-FLAG!!!!! Unfortunately rise are headlining though which is ridiculous, A-F are well better. I dont think rise could really be classed as punk from what ive heard of their music although i have heard they're quite politically minded and have a lot of punk ethics, but thats just what ive heard ill have to see for myself i guess. |

Rise against on teh other hand have a HUGE following in australia and always seem to rock out reall good. I crowd surf at one of their gigs and lost my watch, wallet, phone and pants. it was teh greatest nite. |

whether they're really "punk" or not doesn't mean shit
what matters is the amazing music they make "all flowers and sunshine a perfect world on a perfect day everything always works fine I have never felt so fucking great"

Oh, i really hope they're not shit when i go see them, they are one of the few bands whos music i obsess over so that'd be shite if they do a crap live gig. Crowd surfing with open pockets is the worst, i remember my mate losing his phone crowd surfing when we saw less than jake, that was a bitch. Glad you had a good time anyway though. Wait you lost your pants? Hahahaha thats damned unlucky when it comes to travelling home. Oh and also, i am so jealous you've seen rage against the (fucking) machine. I wanted to go to last years leeds festival as they were headlining and leeds is like an hour away from where i live but i didnt have money for the ticket =/ |
