I'll be the first to admit, I used to like dubstep... alot. A few years ago i was into it, went to a few shows, and thought it was a fresh take on electronic music. But the genre started heading south, and was slowly becoming filled with the same recycled and boring parts. This slowly continued until now, where dubstep has become a part of mainstream music, and is in the music of people like Selena Gomez and Britney Spears. Now dubstep sucks..... discuss.

I have heard of dubstep. never really listened to it. I dont know how Selena Gomez and Britney Spears follow it because they seem pop to me and you stated dubstep being a form of electronic music. I hear they have really dirty lyrics

Some of the more less known dubstep is ok. Also, I don't like it when it has vocals.

Are you saying is one of the absolute jems? Cause I think it's one of the shittiest pieces of music ever written. I like lyrics with worth, and talking about how much you love cumming on a girls face is worthless to me.

Dubstep isn't about lyrics, it's about surprise & excitement & making you feel like you're in a club full of people raving it up.
That's why the main components to a dubstep song are usually club-like singing or a blokes voice saying something aggressive.
It came about from guys like Caspa & Rusko who like to put their own sort of London geezer vibe to all of their songs.
A song does not need lyrics to have worth, if you want to be a lyric fag & not take the whole piece of music into account like a musical snob. Then do so, but don't insult the genres of music that have made a name for themselves by having great producers based on nothing but your immature, closed minded, bias fucking opinion.
I don't like some of the shit a load of the members here post, but I won't make my music taste sound superior to theirs by dwelling on one aspect to criticize it on.
You need to jump off your pedestal mate, you're as bad as the scene faggots around here that look down on anything that hasn't got screaming in it.
Oh & just to piss you off more hopefully.

But why ruin good music with lyrics like that? And did I not just say that I like the music in dubstep. The music is good, but the lyrics ruin it for me. It's funny that you think I have am "immature, closed minded, bias fucking opinion" when you don't even fucking know me. So you're saying I'm a fag for not taking the music into account (which I just did), so are you a fag for not taking into account that you don't have a fucking clue who I am?

I'm not calling you a fag, I'm calling you a lyric fag, as you care too much about the lyrics in music & therefore can't look past some declasse lyrics that were meant in jest. You're closed minded because for you that ruins the song, which is ridiculous as it's not even a minute long.
As for your post about the less known producers, you couldn't sound any more hipster (Oh I like them because they're so obscure & no one else does) as that rubbish sounds like it was made in my toilet using a dustbin lid & strangling a cat, then editing the sounds with fruity loops.

And anyway Ben, wouldn't it be weird if there was a dubstep song with meaningful lyrics? Imagine raving to meaningful lyrics. Hmm . . .

I see this shit and it makes me unbelievably sad. It's silly to the point of being a parody of music in general.
This music isn't good. And I especially hate anything associated with the rave culture
"You know I used to hate this music too. But once you listen to it on ecstasy, it's a lot better..." - My friend's little sister
Like fucking REALLY???
i give no respect to anything that can't be enjoyed without chemical assistance

If I were to offend either Mikey or Kennie I would apologize profusely.
I meant it the same way people on 4chan do when they put fag on the end of everything. In a lighthearted manner with no real negative stigma.
I stand by what I say though, it's closed minded to hate a genre of music for the fact they don't have good lyrics, they're not the only part of a song after all.

But some lyrics can put people off a certain song.
And Paul why don't you go and ask one of the gay/bi people if calling something gay offends them.
