Kind of hard to love all of their music, seeing that their genre has changed so much and the only original band member left is Dani...however, you have to love at least one of their albums.

Cradle of Filth is a famous English metal band, combining elements of symphonic, heavy, and black metal, and whose music and imagery combine a violent, sexually-charged atmosphere, with dark, yet often playful lyrics, helped along by Dani Filth's love for (and talent with) puns and wordplay. They started out in 1991 as a sympho black metal project but soon changed their tune.

In 1994, Cradle of Filth was signed to the record label 'Cacophonus', on which they released their first album 'The Principle Of Evil Made Flesh'. Cacophanous also Pressed the Vempire EP in 1996. After this the band were signed to Music For Nations, Where they produced three of their most prominent full length CDs to date; "Dusk and Her Embrace", "Cruelty and the Beast", and "Midian". The "From the Cradle to Enslave" EP and a Compilation dubbed "Bitter Suites to Succubi" also featured many original songs, as well as some covers. Then in 2003, they signed to Sony and released only one album on this record label, 'Damnation and a Day'. At the beginning of 2004 however, they left Sony and signed to Roadrunner records, which has been their label to date. They have also been signed to two other record labels; Music For Nations and Abracadaver. Cradle Of Filth created the record label Abracadaver and released one album under this name. They hope to sign bands to this label in the near future.

Ach I dunno. I know what you mean, but all bands put on a show.
Remember how David Bowie use to dress?

However, I stand by that CoF lyrics are an amazing use of the english vocabulary..whenever you can understand them XD

People!! They have no genre. They change so often for every album. Each of their albums have a genre.

They are a form of metal, whatever form that is, I do not know.

I really do not mean to be rude, eventhough that seems to be "trendy", the only thing worse that COF i can think of is Cradle of Fear. In time, you`ll see it yourself ;)

Metal is hard to classify simply because there`s that needless need for everything to be classified.
Wouldn`t it be easy if we would just classify music into: -me likey and -me no likey? (IMG:http://www.luv-emo.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/tongue4.gif)

Haha!! Cradle of Fear is hilarious. It is one of the worse films i've ever seen, it makes me giggle.
Like the Exorcist, that film makes me laugh & scream @ the same time (IMG:http://www.luv-emo.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/001_smile.gif) .

But no, I love the atmosphere and the lyrics of Cradle of Filth. I love that sort of fantasy feel.

See? You likey, me no likey ;)
Noone`s wrong and noone`s right.
I`m ok with that and do respect your opinion.
At least we agree on some level ;)

I agree CoF are not black metal. Black metal is bands like Satyricon (before Now, diabolical) and ehmm stuff like Dimmu Borgir in their earlier days aswell.

On topic I really love CoF. Favourite songs - Her Ghost in the fog, A gothic romance, the cover of Fear of the dark and Nymphetamine (IMG:http://www.luv-emo.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/001_smile.gif)

I've liked Cradle back when I was in 5th/6th grade.
Though I LOVE their old stuff, I do like the newer as well.
We'll see how it goes when the new album comes out.
Not sure if alot of people will be disappointed or not.
I hope not.
