Dude.. you sound like one of those sXe douchebags who walks around in basketball shorts and has custom-size gauges. Stop it. Stop labeling yourself as straight edge.. it's old news. Being drug free shouldnt be trendy and most certainly shouldnt have anything to do with what clique youre in (and shouldnt be a clique in itself).
It's not "Straightedge Music" it's loud -and sometimes annoying- rock music.
All you did was jump from being a scene fag to a "hardcore straight edge" douchebag.\
EDIT: Listen-

Not really, and guess what being drug free isnt trendy you fucking douche. Everyone in my town and that I know even my family drinks and does drugs so fuck off. I have one sxe friend and his brother so its actually not a clique. I know its not a straight edge band which is why i put it in quotes becausethey have the xs and they are sxe but theyre music really isnt. You can not even tell im edge I dont plan on getting earrings or gauges and dont go around with flat brimmed hats and wifebeaters and all that shit. Its a list of rules to live by not a trend like you scene fuckers.

All the members of A.F.I. are straight edge vegan. Well, all except Adam, he smokes.

Darkness, RoseOnHerLips, stop the bitching. You're worse than the girls.
If I see you throwing insulty at each other once more, you'll get warned.

Actually you have to understand that Darkness has a point. Someone's personal life choice shouldn't be turned into a trend or fashion through music. People who freely label themselves as straight edge (or even worse 'sxe') are just going through a phase in life more often than not. Watch... in about 3 or 4 years they'll be having extremely awkward conversations in bars where they try to explain their extremely noticable X tattoos on each hand. lulz
If you like hardcore then listen to hardcore... most "straight edge" hardcore sounds EXACTLY like any other hardcore band... there is no need to seperate them because they are basically the same shit other than the band members personal lifestyles... and the latter is hardly an excuse to put them into different catagories.

Well I know some people do it for a phase but Im doing it because everyone around me smokes, drinks and takes drugs. Everyone n my town, my cousins and alot of my friends. I don't want to be like them. THe label is just to meet other people who hold the same beliefs.

But honestly... most people who are truly passionate about this sort of thing never broadcast that they are straightedge.

If they don't "broadcast" it, how do people know they are passionate about it?

You don't have to broadcast something to be passionate about it.

Of course not. But how do people KNOW someone is passionate about something (esp. when they don't know them)?

Say you were at a party and someone was like "You want some vodka?" And you were like "Nah, man, I don't drink." and then that other person would be like "Why the hell not?!" and then you would be like "I'm straightedge..."
Then the conversation would probably continue and that's how someone would know you were passionate about it. You don't have to be like "I'm sxe!!!!!"

Ok.... Im sorry for saying Im straightedge. To be honest I have a pride in it and thats why im so happy to say that. In my school people constantly ask me to do drugs and im surrounded by people who do no matter where I go. People also say that we are just making a label for being normal. But if everyone was "normal" we wouldn't need straight edge. People don't seem to see the problem that drugs and alchohol are getting to kids younger and younger. Also I agree with everyone saying you don't need to say your straightedge to be passionate about it and showoff however, Im proud in the fact that Im taking a stand against basically everyone I know.
